If you could go out and catch one master angler in the state of nebraska today what would it be? I would say blue catfish, flathead catfish, channek catfish in that order go figure huh? then walleye, musky, northern.

If you're talking "just meeting" the Master Angler threshhold, I'd have to say brook trout. A 14-inch brookie has to be one of Nebraska's rarest fish.
But if you're talking about doubling the minimum requirement for Master Angler, you know I'll say bluegill. (2 x 1 lb. = fish-of-a-lifetime

Striper would be pretty cool by me, of course I'm in the wrong end of the state to even have a chance. Smallie wouldn't suck either.

I'd have to say Bluegill or any other type of sunfish. I've not caught a MA sunfish this year. I've got MA's on two species of cats, and 1 MA on 1 species of Bass. So that leaves Gills for me.

First pick would be a walleye, second would probably be a wiper.

Either a muskie or a smallmouth, mostly because i've never caught one of either species.

Roger, and Aquaman have the right process, but I'd take a stream brown over a 14" brookie. Second would be the brook, third would be a big pike, then a muskie, which I've gotten this year at Cottonwood/Steverson.
One thing I've always wanted to do, and just never made the trip is Nova Scotia/Labrador Brook trout. A good friend popped a fish right over 8 pounds on the Antikonak in Labrador three years ago, and I've been considering that much more ever since. |

1. Muskie (never caught one...I agree with you, Alex....NOT in a spill way
)2. blue cat (I always hear they are the best fighting cats of all) 3. Bluegill (size/fighting power...would be cool) 4. State record flathead will be cool otherwise listed below bluegill![]() Sam
