Default Where to bank fish at Branched Oak

We will be camping at Branched Oak during Labor Day and I would like to take my 2 daughters (10) & (14) fishing. We will be camped in the the South Shore RV area. Can anyone guide me to the best places to take my girls fishing at the lake?

Despite the incessant objections of the BO lovers, I am still fully convinced there are no fish in that lake bigger than a 6" white perch. If you want to have your girls catch those...just walk to the water.

Or, just take a drive a few miles north to wildwood, they are bound to catch some fish.

Look for a guy wading out in the water about 30-50 yards and start there.
Bound to run into a wiper or walleye. Keep telling my brothers that in lincoln but they never listen.

I've caught cats off the bank right by the south camping area. Nightcrawlers worked fine. The north side has the jetties but I don't think you would want to take young kids on them.

That is what we used to do as a kid when we camped at BO.

North side of lake (A10-A13), Libers, dam or south side A4, A2. Liber's point, you have to park your vehicle outside the gate if you fish after 9:30pm. It depends on what you want to catch BUT wind direction too. I often people says this place or that place is good but don't ignore other factors such as wind direction/strength at BO. There are some places where you can catch small gills, bullheads, bass one after another both north and south side of the lake...might be fun for kids. You can watch them catching small gills and bullheads during the day and YOU can catch big mama using them as bait fish.

Any further question, just pm me.

Sam

Fish anywhere off the bank on the shallow side of the trees with a bobber and a worm set a few feet deep.
