Hey!!

Mine aint that bad. It looks like BIG oak tree with Big watermelons hanging

But when I told my wife about chigger bites, she told me to cut 'grasses' by the oak as they may live staying in 'grassy field'.

No way, I am not going to shave my hair. That is NO NO.

There are things which man has to protect regardless of situation, I believe.

Sam,
I'm speechless. And there are no 'smilies' on here to respond to that post.

I can't help but think this thread has taken a slight detour.

I was out there last night and there was a lot of people running around aimlessly because there was no pictures with backgound posted. One guy came up to me and asked "Is this were the 48# flathead was caught?" I replied "well..I suppose there's been 48lber caught here, but not recently that I know about?" He retorted " I just read it on the internet" I laughed "On the Fishing Forum? It was a joke dream post" He looked at me and said "..then why even write about it.."

I kid you not!

I kid you not! I was out in my float tube and kept watching people drive around the whole evening? On Friday/Sat that's not uncommon but on Wednesday? I know most of the wading wiper chasers so I keep an eye open for them.So I can ask them how they did later. But as I was loading my tube for the evening a guy pulls up gets out and looks around then asks me "Is this were the 48# flathead was caught?"

doesn't surprise me at all. And most of the guys on here wonder why I'm so touchy on some things. Even a 'dream' fish can get guys all worked up and on the prowl. What's really funny.......he's gonna read this and know exactly who Andrew is referring to.

AHHH, so next time I go out to my favorite omaha area fishing hole. ( that gets pretty packed ). I can just divert people with a fake post? Just playing around, I would never do that.

That is crazy!!!

It was pretty bare for people fishing last night- just a few here and there. One guy with his kids and others looked like they were just crappie fishing. There's 2 trucks that I always watch out for. They come in the parking areas and then do a half cookie and spray gravel on the other cars in the parking lot. A little white nissan with a camper shell and a black ford ranger with red flares.

So far, 11-12 people this past month, a few from forum, rest at BO asked me to show them secret spots, AKA, railroad track at BO.

Some are so despirate to find area of railroad truck where some of us catch flathead after flathead.....

I tends to be very open about fishing info for flathead at BO whether forum or at BO. I give info on what I use or what to look for. Then if a person catch fish, I am very happy for him. But locations, I won't say much BECAUSE no single spot produce quality flathead day after day after day if you fish off the shore It all depends on various factors and season, too. That is why Daryl's info is so helpful....not info about where rather how fish behave.

I have seen TOO MANY who just sit one spot because 1) they saw/hear someone catch big fish once 2) they caught ONE big fish....and think they will catch again. I have seen TOO MANY wasted their gas $$ and time fishing same location and get skunked or catch only small fish this way....when fish are biting elsewhere Worst I saw in past years was a guy who actually printed out picture from forum and move around trying to match background with picture.

And please do remember this. There are lots of good information available at BO from other anglers. But there are also many info which is not true. Some claim fish much bigger than they were or as story passed by one from other, fish gets bigger and bigger. YOU have to have screening or filtration ability on information. Last month, I was fishing and this guy told me that he saw a guy caught >50lb flathead. I asked him if they weigh the fish, and guy says no. But he said it was a BIG fish. I finally asked him, how do you know it was >50lbs...then he said a guy who caught claimed. But I said...you saw the fish correct? how long was it....this guy told me it is about 30 inch and was BIG. The bottom line is....everyone has different standard on BIG fish...unfortunately, the term "big" can spread fast.

Sorry, this should not be in this thread....but too many are too busy to find location rather than fish nature or lake as a whole.

Sam

Was the guy with his kids on the east jetty to the west of the marina?
