Default Best crappie around Kearney

I will be in the Kearney area on Labor day weekend and will be taking my neice and nephews out fishing. I know some areas. But looking for some good eating size (10-12") crappie for a fish fry.(PM me if you want the area to remain private)

Thanks!

PM sent.

What? We're talking FOOD here. You want me to give up Slimdog and MY food source? "Fat chance" from me!

I will have kids ages 8,10,12 with me. So anywhere within 5 minutes!

If you have a great area with big crappie I may be flexible

Kea Lake and/or Kea West maybe? Both looked like they could be hiding some Crappie last time I was there.

Snuck out to "Boogarts" this morning. Got permission from the boss (he is usually an @$$#0LE, but after two of the last three days "touring" most of South Central Nebraska, I guess a "break" was acceptable.

Caught three average Crappie a nice 9" gill and several LMB, one at 16". All on 4lb test and 1/64 oz jig tipped with a piece of gulp worm.

The Crappie are "swimmin'" in the kitchen sink, and will be an excellent late lunch. The others are being stored at "Boogarts" rather large livewell for the next fisher, or If I get hungry again.
