NGPC news release, 8/20/08:
LINCOLN, Neb. – If you are looking for a spot to take mom and the kids fishing before summer ends, take advantage of the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission’s Aug. 19 stocking of four eastern Nebraska lakes with bullheads. All of the bullheads stocked were catchable size, approximately 10 inches long. They were stocked at: Two Rivers State Recreation Area (SRA) lake No. 6 – 1,640 bullheads and lake No. 7 – 580 bullheads; Fremont Lakes SRA lake No. 3 – 1,725 bullheads; and Louisville SRA lake No. 2A – 560 bullheads. Bullhead fishing doesn’t require a lot of expensive equipment, just a rod and reel, some hooks, weights, and maybe a bobber. Nightcrawlers and garden worms are good baits. The daily bag limit at Two Rivers SRA, Fremont SRA and Louisville SRA is five bullheads per person.
