Default Two Rivers #4

After checking our line recycling bins at Two Rivers this morning, I decided to launch the float tube for a couple of hours on #4, making absolutely sure first than no one had put a feeder on that lake since my last visit. The first pass around the lake produced just two hits -- one I missed and the other I got all the way back beneath the tube before whatever it was spit out my bug.

My second circumnavigation, despite the near mid-day sun, was a little more productive: one foot-long LMB, one maybe 14" channel cat, and this little guy who went just over 18". All three came on my 5-wt., fishing a silver tinsel streamer with bead-chain eyes on a #8 Gamakatsu hook.

A couple of years ago I was whining about some injury -- can't even remember now what it was -- and Jarred suggested I paint my ankles with vinegar because that would keep the ants from climbing up my leg and biting my candy *****!!!! (I still consider that one of the five best insults I've ever heard. )

Are you sure someone did not illegally transfer that 18" green carp from the feeder lake to #4 in anticipation of your mid-afternoon visit?

Nice fish. Before I joined here, I didn't know you could catch all these other fish on a flyrod. I just need to learn to use one someday.
