Default Holmes Lake Float Tube Regatta, Sep 14th, 2008

The "spring" regatta was at Walnut Creek here in the Omaha Metro... and there's a possibility of a Summitt Regatta in the future. Why not a Lincoln area regatta and give those poor Lincolnites w/ float tubes the short drive this time? I'd be willing to drive to Lincoln for a float tube gathering, would even car pool, or maybe take a drive down hwy 50 and take pity on someone....

Where would be a good place to go?

Who'd be interested?

Just a thought.

Alex

I'd be there! At Holmes? Lots of fun size fish with the chance of getting a good LMB!

It's a term we use for a gathering of float tubes. Pretty sure it actually has to do with boat racing.

The only racing I think you'd see with float tubes would be if a storm popped up, or a snapping turtle surfaces near me. Had that happen a few times, and I think i could have pulled a skier.

this is an example of a float tube regatta

pretty standard for a regatta, ONE person actually catching something, one person taking pictures, and several people pretending they don't know us....

Can I bring my boat? I'm not sure if my old Browning float tube still floats or not.

Are you sure? I've been told that fishing behind me going down the bank is like fishing behind a seine net.

Guys is uni-sex. ex. "Hey! you guys stop catching all my fish!"

If you have a Hawaiian shirt, speedo, and hippie necklace and can fish I don't think it matters what gender you are.

I have some speedo swim trunks and a Hawaiian shirt so all I need is the hippy necklace.

Long story, Shorty, but I've ended up owning two tubes and two sets of fins. All you'd need to bring would be a life jacket and a booster chair.

Actually, Aquaman and I have been talking about getting the Omaha and Lincoln area folks together some Sunday in early September down at Burchard.

C'mon we all knew it was a matter of time that Holmes would be a great fishery that itch mites, rattlesnakes, and other Darylardians would start to show-up?

Where's Daryl at anyhow??

Sam...if you're not already back across the Pacific, you should come. You won't get chiggers on your boys if they're under water.

Pick a date, I'm up for it!! I also have 2 tubes and 2 sets of fins. Someone could surely borrow one. I've fished Holmes through the ice a couple times and I think it would be fun to tube that place.

I'll attend if I can, I'd like to meet some more folks. Never fished any of the lakes being discussed, so that would be fun. I'm in Vegas Labor Day week, otherwise I think I'm open.
