For the record....us float tube folks can appreciate events that may divert the attention of the less dedicated fisher people to other endeavors. (Especially when heading to a pond with a concrete boat ramp that is located in a metro area.....)

As for the bird hunt...I am going to refrain from any negativity there, since I have not hunted since moving to the area and do not want to burn any bridges considering at some point in the future (when my boy is older) --- I am sure that I will be dusting off the shotguns and looking for friendly guides

Alex

Yep! It's that time of year where my fishing buddies become my late season hunting buddies!

Phone call to Alex T.

"Hey Alex! The wipers are starting to come up! I have caught a few that are in the 10-12 pounds range. Of course, it depends on the weather. BTW seen some geese flying low also. Maybe we can meet again soon?"

What Alex T.hears:

"Hey Alex! blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah 10-12 pounds of Geese meat,
blah, blah,blah, blah,blah, blah?"

I don't think it would be worth the effort for college football.....Now if these guys want to go tubing during the season premier of Lost or one of the last 10 episodes of Battlestar Galactica......Then necessity truly is the mother of invention

Yeah, OK, my bad. How about Sunday the 14th then??

No matter what, it's always going to conflict with something, but at least on Sunday we won't have to fight all that traffic.

There's no traffic to Holmes Lake. OBG doesn't have a radio on his necklace?

Default 13 or 14th?

I'd like to see a couple more chime in here on this. It really doesn't matter to me.

I can't commit to either day. It all depends rather or not we have a good wiper winds or not?

That would be "weather or not"... Depending on your day... can I follow you?

If I can borrow a tube and fins, I'd love to come! I vote for Saturday (though I realize my vote is contingent on someone else's generosity)
