Personally, I consider it to be an "undeserved" Honor to be "brothered" with .

Please remember it is "younger" brother...

I'll try to attend in the morning and maybe drag my brother with me. I have to work Saturday night, so I won't be able to stay all day.

GREAT! Dreamscape. The more the "merrier"...

Oh, by the way, WELCOME TO THE FORUM!

Note to those attending, there will be NEF&GA "business cards" and Forum stickers provided for all members attending.

Now, THAT ought to be enough to "double" the attendance...

Harold F.

(Note: Bring your RED RattleTraps and Chartruese Spinnerbaits. There are a few 30" + Northern Pike swimming in the "depths" out there!)

Chad just called me and let me know he was able to firm up the August 16th date for the Catch and Continue Awards ceremony at Cabela's.

Be there before 12:30 to register for a free prize drawing. The registration for the drawing closes at 12:30 so be sure to get there early so you don't miss out on a chance at even more free gear.

Our official event will start at 1:00 and we'll say a few words and hand out the awards at that time.

If everyone could make an effort to attend, that would be great. Cabelas has been a great sponsor for this contest -- we should pay a visit to the store for this event.

C'mon, I know you want to go to Cabela's on a Saturday afternoon anyway -- make it Saturday the 16th of August!

We'll make this OFFICIAL for the Kearney Cabela's Ceremony, as well. So, the scheduled times for the COMBINATION of the members "get-together" on Saturday, August 16th is as follows:

6:30 AM Gates open at Cottonmill Lake. A gathering area has been secured for the day at the Cottonmill West shelter which is located on the road to the boat dock. Signs will be posted!

12:00 (Noon) Those wishing to attend the Ceremony at Kearney's Cabela's for the Catch & Continue Contest will "ride the Kearney Trolley" to the Event. If the response to daviscreek@earthlink.net and on this thread is LOW that "ride" will not be available. Bring the FAMILY and just take the ride, EVEN if you are only attending the Awards Ceremony! Cabela's will provide "prizes" and "drawings" for those in attendance! Sign-up for drawings will CLOSED AT 12:30, so HEAD TO THE BOX RIGHT AWAY!

1:00 Presentations will be made to those attending that "completed" the Contest, and prizes for those in attendance that "Placed in the money". Gift Certificates for BP Bowhunter and CJ have been secured for their individual successes! Hopefully, BOTH OF YOU can make it, along with your FAMILIES!

2:00 The Kearney Trolley will head back to Cottonmill Lake, where we can continue to fish, chat, go our own way, or discuss Catfishsteve's bladder troubles... the lake closes at (Posted 10:00 on the Internet, but you MAY get tossed out at 11:00)

Again, this is TWO separate events. Because someone brought up the idea of having a "West of Omaha" members gathering, this opportunity was hard to pass up... the same day as the Kearney Cabela's sponsored NEF&GA event! If you can make the time to get to Cottonmill Lake only, that is GREAT! And a "sign-in" sheet will be available at the West Shelter, as will NEF&GA stickers and business cards! So please sign in, as "we" all may be "fishing"!

There WILL be a boat available for a "tour" of the lake. Also Cottonmill Lake has paddleboats available if your family wishes to rent them. Just stay clear of the "serious" fishers that are on the water. Them 36" pike are in "hiding" and may be spooked from a fisher if you paddle by!

For the fishers attending, SLIMDOG would be a GREAT GUIDE, as he knows the lake, and has a TOPO available for the "deep water" opportunities, and the "flats" that can hold fish!

IF the responses are good, we will provide a "picnic" dinner around 5:00 or as members gather.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE let us know if you will be attending either/both events. Other than the cost of GAS to get to Kearney, this Day is FREE!

Harold F.

Our whole family will be there. We are leaving early Saturday morning and should get there around 9:30 or 10:00 AM. CJ is really excited about going to Cabelas! Now, just a small favor! Could some of you guys help me get CJ to go with us when we leave the store? He could fill a few shopping carts! He loves to shop for lures!

Default NEFGA Saturday...

Harold's right. I would be happy to tell you where to go!

The Topo map I have is from the NG&P website. I tried to copy and paste a link to the map, but unfortunately I am not smart enough to get it done on this fine Monday morning. I will have a few maps available this weekend. Hope to see everyone there!

I hope to be at Cottonmill by 11. Will that be too late to get CJ's autograph?

It's great to see the bait monkey on someone else's back. Hopefully that monkey will leave me alone for a while. I highly doubt it, but I can hope...

I will inform the Kearney Trolley driver to be on the "lookout" for CJ and Slimdog. Hopefully (He, She) will be "tough enough" to "drag" both of them from the Kearney Cabela's store and back on the "bus"!

The Trolley is OFFICIALLY a "GO", so PLEASE plan to take the ride to Cabela's and back!

We WILL provide "security" for vehicles and accessories at the Cottonmill Park!

We are bringing 4 kayaks as well if anyone wishes to try them out. Of course, you will have to battle CJ for the best one!

GREAT! Certainly QUIETER than them paddleboats! One of them sounds like a BULLFROG in HEAT! So much for WATER as a LUBRICANT!

Default Boat on Cottonmill?

I have only been on Cottonmill to ice-fish, and I was wondering how big of a boat can you safely launch at cottonmill? I did not pay any attention to the boat ramp when I was there last winter.

H2H -

Harold has a 16.5' Pro-Craft that is no problem. As long as you don't have an ocean-going vessel you shouldn't have a problem. The ramp is concrete and has a floating dock. If I recall correctly, the water is 6-8ft deep at the end of the dock. I have seen a couple of 18-20ft v-hulls on the water. Haven't noticed any deep-V's. Hope this helps.

If the weather is crappy I will probably make it to the Cabelas event. Otherwise I will be sitting on Elwood all day
