Never, ever, had an IC fail me with braid.

I'm not saying it's the best knot (because a lot of this is personal preference and heresay), I'm just saying the IC has never failed me, which is why I keep on tying it.

I too like the IC for braid, I usually leave 1/2" tag on the end in case of slippage which does not seem to be a problem if an IC knot is well seated.

Regardless of which knot you tie keep in mind that any braided line can fail when the line is still relatively dry. The low stretch combined with a hard snapped hook set and a dry knot can "burn" right through the knot. The heat generated at the knot when the line is still dry is what can get you. So on those first few casts be careful not to set the hook too hard until the line has had a chance to soak a minute.

Hold the pole down in the water as you boat to your spot, get your line wet;thus allowing a couple minutes to "soak" in.

Ditto
I use basiclly the same set up for bass ans I do for snook and reds. braided line tiedto a floro leader using a uni to uni thenyour leader to hook knot will not slip. and your bite ratio will increase, just my observations

for braided line i have always used The Improved Clinch Knot, since it tightens itself, and more so when water is added to the equation
