But can he make it through week 3?

Wow!!

What a great bunch of entries!! Nice job gang!! We still have 4 fishing days for folks to get a fish in this for week 1!

I think a few of our usual suspects are noticably absent up til now. I'm really looking forward to seeing what they put in this week!!

If any of the newer folks have any questions on this contest, please drop Chad or I a PM. If anyone needs help getting their pictures posted, likewise, just drop a PM to one of us.

Again, this is a FREE contest. All you gotta do is catch fish in Nebraska and then take pics of them and post them here for a chance at great prizes from Cabela's.

Default WK1-Shorty: LP = 1.15 (9 3/16" BG)

Here is a preliminary entry, hopefully I can replace these pictures by Thursday evening with a much bigger gill, the 10" plus gill were not very co-operative yesterday.

9-3/16" Bluegill

That reminds me...Harold and I have been visiting about the cost of producing NEFGA yardsticks. Some could be sold to members for a modest profit and others could be affixed to public fishing piers. The imprinting could be something like "Know Your Length Limits -- www.NEFGA.org -- Practice Selective Harvest" (I wanted "Legalize DDT for Litterbugs," but Harold didn't get the joke.)

Oh, by the way, that's not too shabby a 'gill, Aquaman.

CJ's 9" Bluegill

CJ caught several 8 inchers and this 9" Bluegill was his best catch of the day.

I got a 26" channel cat out at Mac this weekend. Camper is at the lake and my camera is there as well. Hope to get pics up tomorrow. We did well this weekend out there. We camped Wed.-Mon. and all total I caught 1 cat, 6 eyes, 3 wiper, and 3 carp. I also got my 7 yr old cousin his first "HUGE" fish "IT PROBABLY WEIGHS LIKE 20LBS" He was sure excited. I was to until I saw it was a carp. He did end up getting a nice wiper though a little later. The eyes were between 18"-22"

Default WK1-BPbowhunter: LP = 1.06 (8 1/2" BG)

I learned today the value of having a camera man along, it is dang hard to get a reasonable picture of yourself. Caught this one on the fly rod, using a bead head prince nymph.

Bluegill-8.5 inches

Default WK1-Thad S.: LP = 1.11 (20" LMB)

Great contest Chad!!! I am in NE for one month this summer and the dates work perfect.
Bass-- 20"

I need to borrow OBG's "necklace" to display the control item. (And use Bo's straight-arm technique to enlarge the fish)

I have fished over 100 times per year for the last thirty years since I got a drivers license...

...And I have only caught three legitimate 20+ inch largemouth during that entire time.

You guys who can go out, target, and catch a largemouth that big simply amaze me. Great job!
