I'll try to get something done. I did some late night, last minute tying the week before my Montana trip. Can I contribute some well-gnarled, chewed-up sow bugs and midges? Ha ha, I'll see what I can manage. I think I have the two most effective patterns of all time for sandhills streams. Not sure I want to share...

Oh, come now, TB, it's not the fly, it's what you do with it.
Sandhill stream patterns would make an excellent addition to the collection

First contributions to the NEFGA Fly Tiers Collection are ready for pick up!
Bryan (aka Fly-Boy-Wray) sent me a preview last night. Once I get the flies, I will get close ups posted.

Thanks Bryan!

Mine are ready, Chad. You can have them this week if you take me fishing.

It was a good day for the NEFGA Fly Tiers Collection. Rog put the first set of flies in my hands, and I was able to line up a professional to photograph our contributions.

Here's two patterns I have to add to the pot. The pictures bring out the worst in my tying skills... I would rather have 's eye-sight and barely be able to see them when I see my goof-up's.

I will have more to come soon. Enjoy these everyone.

Rubber-legged Epoxy-backed Gold-Ribbed Hare's Ear

Al Campbell's Crappie Candy

Dang, I love tying! Best yet, catching a fish on the one's you tie!

It works well! Many considered it a standard pattern when I used to fish the San Juan! I also use a San Juan worm that is a single strand of chamois instead of the Ultra Chenile, moves much more naturally than the stiff chenile.

We have another tier.

Quote:
Chad,

Love the idea of the fly-tier's collection. I am sure you have some tiers that are WAY BETTER than I am, but I have not seen anyone mention a hopper pattern yet. Put me down for that, I have until May 31, right?

Later,

Daryl B.

P.S. That should shock some folks, they all think I have never fly-fished let alone tie flies!

I thought Rapalas were carved, not tied...

Here is the first set of flies. The Faux Beadhead Dog's-Butt fly. It is VERY popular as a food item among the gills and crappie.

Now, to get some time to tie the 'tough' flies. . . . . .

I've received many of the flies. For those who still have flies to submit, PM me when you're ready and we will line up the hand off.

If you have turned in flies, please send me the names of the flies along with your full name for use with the completed collection.

Sorry Chad, I spaced them on Saturday. I am car-less so I won't be able to meet up this week that I am aware of. I will call you when I get a car.
