I went out for a evening kayaking/fishing trip on the Tallahala Creek down here in Mississippi. Thought I'd share a few bird photos I took.

Great Blue Heron

Great Blue Heron with Three Great Egrets (notice one in flight on right)

Two great egrets

Prothonotary Warbler, had trouble getting him to hold still, so the pics are a tiny bit blurry.

Right in front of my face, but I couldn't get him to pose for me

Not a bird, but kinda cool anyway.

Then, maybe not quite as cute as those ground squirrells, but a close second.

p.s. I took the gator pic on a different day and location, but I had to share it nonetheless

Wow! Cool! Taking pictures from a canoe or kayak is so fun. You're silent, so oftentimes the critters will let you get a whole lot closer than when you're traveling by foot or in a motorized boat. Thanks for posting!
