Also starting a new thread for goslings. Love to watch them grow, they mature very quickly. I think geese make excellent parents. Not only do they stay together, they have strict control of their children, and are very protective.

The goslings did not come near our building this weekend, I think they were too scared of all the people that came out in the long-overdue nice weather.
We are still seeing some snow geese swimming at Memphis, they don't appear to be breeding but it seems pretty strange for them to be so far south this time of year. |

A couple of weeks ago I was traveling down 370 with my kids when the traffic in both directions went from 65 to zero in the blink of an eye. Mother & father walked their baby chicks across the highway. I was very surprised, and very happy, to see that motorists actually cared enough to risk their vehicles for the lives of these goslings.

I drove out to Memphis today to check on storm damage (none to speak of, thank goodness). While I was there I got a couple of shots of our goslings. Wow they are getting big!
![]() ![]() They still have a bit of fuzz on them but other than that you can hardly tell which are the parents and which are the babies. When you think that my first pictures were from the middle of May it's just amazing how fast they have grown. |

Thanks for the cool photos Carilee. Another great reason to live close to the water!
