Default If you got it, flaunt it...

I'm not sure how many Nebraska anglers have brought a Nebraska muskie to hand, but my guess is it aint many.

If you have, let's see the pics... PLEASE!

I hope to post one later this year...

Thought I'd share a picture sent to me by Bryan Sweet, manager of the North Platte Hatchery. The photo is of his uncle, Gaylord Sweet and a very healthy 46.5" female taken from Merritt in July of '07.

Given the size, this fish is somewhere between 9 and 11 years old...

Considering they can live to about 20 years....I'd really like to catch this fish in 2015!!

I think those are photoshopped!

I like how Daryl says, "Feel free to share" instead of, "Please help me brag."

All kidding aside, those are great, Daryl and crew!

Daryl got me started. I don't have a lot of pics of them except at my feet...sorry, hard to hold them out far enough to take a pic. I fish by myself a lot for them.

Here's one from Dec 5th. How about sliding this one in a separate, non hook and line division?

I picked this one up a while back. Just missed the master angler mark by fraction of an inch. Made the minium poundage though.

I don't have any pics of mine around anymore, but here's one bachelorpads picked up late last year. What it lacked in size, it made up for in...well, just being a cool fish.

Default Nebraska muskies

Well, I have, and have pics to prove it, but haven't received "picture posting priveledges" yet!

I think there are, what, five? recognized marking variations for muskies? talk about the 'skie grand slam...a photo of a fish with each variation?...then, one each on the fly...for those who like 'challenges'...

I'm still just trying to figure out how to catch my first one of these rascals (figure the 12 inch stocker tiger at Z in the mid 90's on a crappie jig does not count)...

Well, I mean, with 5 posts, how much can you really know about muskie, Jamie? I mean, it's not like you told me where to go, what to use, and what moon phase to fish for my first two muskie ever...

Good seeing you're posting on here. Now I can learn more.

Brian, I was glad to see you on here too! Happy to see that you are still chasing muskies. It's been a few years, eh?

I'll agree with an earlier post too....Bauer's a show-off. Must be tough having a job that pays you to go fishing!

lots going on in this thread! Flyboy, nice species for the flyrod too bad those fish died this year! Whitetips nice to have a job where you can take pics of you releasing all of those Fyke net fish! Junkie definately does have the NE fish, I've been with him for several. Now, on to the real stuff. For your North American Esocid slam you need one Spotted (Leech Lake,or Great Lakes strain), one Barred (Wisconsin, or Shoepack), one clear, one Hybrid (Tiger), one Northern Pike, one Silver Pike, one Chain Pickerel, one Grass Pickerel, and one American Redfin Pickerel. A World slam would also include one Amur Pike from Asia. You have it easy for a Nebraska slam. You only need a Tiger (getting more rare in NE every year, a Barred(most of our fish), a Clear (Burrodebo's fish's is close) a Spot (Our Iowa fish may not develop all spots), a Northern, and a Grass Pickerel. Hey Junkie does Quackwacker's fish remind you of those Watts fish from oh so long ago?

Default watts fish

I had to look at those photos several times to see if it was a tiger! Very nicely colored fish for sure.
