We are bringing back League Night, which will be held on July 1st at Zorinsky Lake and the fishing will start at 5:00 PM. It will cost $7 a person each night to fish, $5 of which will go to the pot and $2 to our club. The pot is currently at $75 from the last two League Nights. Hope to see everyone there!

Also, the same rules as before will apply and the pot will be won by the largest musky caught over 30" and will continue to build until someone catches one over 30"!

I do not know how anyone did aside from Daryl (tough luck my friend), but sine I had not heard anything, I am assuming that nobody boated an elusive musky...much less a 30"+.

My night started out great. Once Kevin (Buglem) and I got out, we went to trolling the breaks along the south shore. I was trolling a 10" "Piker" at about 9' deep just exiting a break by the last big bend before 168th Bridge when I got the tap...tap...WHAM!

Now, I only had the fish on for about 5 seconds, but it was long enough. It shook free before Kevin could slow us down. I know that it was not a bass because my new lure had some really nice scoring on the back and sides. It had to be either a really nice walleye or a musky.

10 minutes later, closer into shore further down, I was rigging a second line for top water and I had the rod in a holder. Suddenly my drag started peeling and I realized that I was hung up. Before I could do anything, my line broke, losing my new $20 lure. BUMMER. Most of my musky stuff is still in Minnesota (soon to be remedied), so I became suddenly very limited in my lure presentations, not to mention trenching my new line badly.

So that was it for the excitement for the night. I hope that everyone else had a great time and better luck. I look forward to our next event!

BTW, I am planning on hitting Wagon Train REAL soon, so perhaps I can get a little more luck out there!

As usual the League Night was a great time. Also, it was nice to meet the newest Nebraska musky hunter, Realmwalker.

I fished in Patrick and Brittany's boat. Our main approach for the night was to thoroughly fish a few spots along the south side and by the 168th bridge. Unfortunately we didn't catch or see any muskies. I ended my fishing for the night around 8:30. Once I stopped fishing, Patrick and Brittany decided to do some trolling. Around 9:30 one of their rods went off and Brittany landed a nice catfish.

As for the rest of my family and Jeremy, they decided to troll the majority of the night. While trolling Eric lost a fish. Also, Jeremy caught a nice bass right away while casting a spinnerbait.

I look forward to upcoming League Nights in September and October.
