Default Fave bait

Here is an off-season type question… what is your favorite bait? Not most productive, but one that has a special place. This isn’t a top five list but a lure that has a story. Include only one lure per post and an explanation of why it is your choice. It doesn’t have to have caught anything yet.

I have an Amma-Bamma that has not put many fish in the boat but it was my first Bamma and it has a weird habit of ferreting out a nice fish when there is nothing going on. Not in the boat mind you because if they hit it they can throw it, as it is heavy. On days where you want to even see a fish it can find one and it’s more often than not a good fish, especially if the skies are cloudless and the water is clear. They follow it but rarely hit it.

Default fave bait

Well, I gotta stick with my theme from previous posts...

My favorite bait is the one that's in the muskie's mouth when it comes to the net!

As some of you know, I don't have anywhere near the amount of muskies lures that most guys have. There are maybe 5 or 6 that I would call favorites, and I have anywhere from 3-10 sizes/colors of them.

Most of these baits have stories, but I guess the most famous one involves my 6" wtd Perch Sledge, that nearly met it's demise on Lake of the Woods a few years ago.

My favorite bait is a custom made 11" Pike Glider by Joe Peterson of Truglide. The carving, foil, and paint job are all amazing!
