December MI53 meeting

Well, it's election time again!

We will be having our "monthly" meeting on December 3rd and also be holding elections for our officers.

I would like to have the meeting at the HHC Sales office 8944 H Street in Omaha. We have a meeting room facility that would work great.

Since this is the election meeting, it would be great if EVERYONE were able to attend.

Look forward to seeing you all there!

Hey Jamie, I missed last years election... just curious how does this election work?

This year, we're going to play things kind of fast and loose.

There will first be a call for nominations for "EC" positions (Pres, VP, Secretary, Treasurer, Regional Vice Pres.). We'll vote by a simple show of hands. All EC positions MUST be filled.

I will not be seeking re-election as President....

Next will come nominations for the Board positions (Membership, Youth, Research, Meeting coordinator, etc.). There are currently 7 Board positions, which are 3 year terms, though not all positions are currently open.

If you would like more information on any particular Board or EC position, please feel free to PM me here or, email me at brian@mi53.org.

This year's elections will be rather important for us as a chapter. There's a lot of folks who, and rightly so, are frustrated with what our group has/hasn't accomplished. If you're in that group of folks....PLEASE step up! It doesn't take all that much time or effort to make a difference.

ps. As a reminder, MINC has updated it's by-laws and all chapters are organized into regions (we're in Region 1) and the position of RVP has been retained (will now attend only the Fall regional meetings).

After the chapter business a few of us will be staying around tying leaders and chatting about fishing if anyone is interested in staying late with us.

darn, sounds like this is gonna be fun but sadly I will not be able to make it to this one

I would have loved to learn how to tie some leaders, I have been wanting to learn for awhile but oh well

Well elections were held, but the original plans of leader tying and a swap meet did not occur. Updates to come in an new thread with all the upcoming MI 53 happenings.
