You should expect someone to give you an answer to your question right around freeze up.

PS - It won't be me.

Oh, come on Chad....! We're not that tight-lipped! Short of GPS coordinates, we're more than happy to help in whatever ways we can.

You might move this thread over to our forum, surely someone has been down there and will chime in.

I went with a couple of other muskie heads for three hours on Wed. The water clarity was not good. We could not have seen a follow, but we did catch two bass. The water was high and there is plenty of structure to fish so once topwater takes off or if it clears up it'll be a hoot.

Being in the western part of the state, I rarely fish WT - however.......

WT has a shad forage base.

I've had success using a custom shad-pattern "Magic Maker" jerkbait, as well as spinnerbaits (white hair and fl. yellow blades).

Jamie fishes WT occasionally, hopefully he'll chime in.

Had 1 bite off at the boat and a follow last Saturday. Was fishing a white spinner bait for bass on the follow, and a large minnow on the bite off. Fish the west central area north of the campground.

Default Wagon Train

I have had some success at Wagon Train, but it is still muskie fishing! What that means is that there is no guaranteed pattern or method that will work everytime.

The fish I have boated on WT were caught in the shallow slop with a weedless Boogerman buzz bait in the spring. Because of the stresses and mortality rate of catching and releasing a muskie in water temps over 80 degrees I've never fished for them at WT (or anywhere in Nebraska really) from about June-September. I'll be on WT this saturday from about 6:00-3:00 throwing for 'skis, but I suspect that the water temps are getting too high already, so it will likely be my last try there until about October. I will start satrurday throwing my buzzer in the slop, and if nothing happens doing that, then I start casting, or trolling cranks over the deep water where the shad school.

Hope this helps!

Jamie
