Default Nationals

Does anyone else feel that we should up the allowance for Nationals? The guys are driving to Texas for represent our school. Shane do we have enough money to give Max and Kyle $150 each for a travel allowance?

Thanks,

Tony

Nationals already gives a travel stipend of $200 per team if i'm not mistaken.

I agree that $50 is not much per person but i don't think we have enough money to be giving up 150 per person every tournament. I think its one of those things that needs to be kept constant for every tournament so everyone gets to use the same resource. I hate sounding like a tightass but i just think its not right to change the payment system for one tournament.

yes, but this tournament is THE TOURNAMENT. Correct me if I'm wrong but this tournament seems to be the only one that means anything. Did I not overhear that we have plenty of money in 2 separate accounts at our last meeting. Sounded like we had at least over $1000 between to 2 if not more. So there are 3 other tournaments HBA is fishing this year besides nationals. What is our money going for if we can't use it to go to tournaments. $50 is a tank of gas and that's it. I'm already planning on camping the entire time because I have no money for a motel. Plus we might have to pull a boat all the way down there, which is going to take much more gas. I just want our team represented down at this tournament. But without some money from the team I don't think it's going to happen. What exactly do we use our money for if it's not for tournaments? Are we going to start having coffee and donuts at our meetings this fall? Throw us a bone here...

As the former adviser, if I may advise a bit, you may consider budgeting things out and deciding which tournaments you will send people to, and then consider having the stipend depend on how much they will receive from the tournament, if any, and the distance traveled. It's much cheaper to go to a tournament in Missouri than it is in say, Texas or Alabama, just because of fuel costs. Don't spend all of the money as you'll still need some for up front costs of random things, but no need to save everything for a rainy day either. That's what future fund raisers are for.

Which brings another idea... fund raisers. There are a lot of things you can do for fund raisers. It can be as easy as selling POGO cards or chocolate bars, or having a garage sale or car wash. I know a lot of you guys work, and you have classes during the school year (which may include summer), but working a few hours to help out the team is well worth it. If you do a car wash, make sure you have some of your female friends/family members help out by holding car wash signs!

here are my thoughts, yes we have about $1000 but we have had three tournament so far this season, and if we would have given out $150 to each angler for each tournament that would $900, and that would leave the club with not much money at all. So maybe we could do $100 a person, because say this is "the tournament" but that is also why you get a $200 stipend.

I can defiantly live with $100. That should cover gas down and back. We'll just keep any other expenses to a minimum and should be fine. Now if we can just get the boat thing figured out sounds like we're set to go!

I got an email back from Terry Kneedler Kyle. He is calling Bernie on Monday to get things rolling.

Also, my phone is broken so facebook me or pm me, or email me. That would be the easiest way to get a hold of me.

I think upping the money to 100 for Nationals is a great idea. Also, what date do we want to do beat the HBA? It needs to be in the fall and I need to know asap!

Wow, this could actually be happening. Thanks for helping me out with this man! We should do it the weekend before school starts up. August 22nd I believe.

Ok, Triton has a boat in Tulsa I could pick up on the way. It's a redfish boat, but I could care less as long as it floats and moves faster than 50 mph. The trailer is currently getting fixed. If it gets fixed by Monday it's mine, and we're fishing.

Are we cool with $100 a piece? I think this tournament runs longer than most, so the allowance should be upped to this. We'll be there for 5 days, how long do you guys stay at other tournaments normally?

Ok, if all else fails my dad just said I could take his boat. We are going! His bearings are bad on his trailer so I'll have to check them every 30 miles or so but whatever. Nationals here we come!!!
