too bad I wont be able to fish it because i think it is going to be next year, but a schedule should be out this fall.
about 2 months ago I got a call from the FLW from a man named Kevin. He asked me a few questions like: "what if we provided the boats, would that help you out?" "could you pay for the hotel rooms, if we paid for your gas to get there?" and stuff like that. I am jealous of you guys!

I was just on the FLW site and saw what they are doing and thought I'd check to see if you guys knew about the new program. It looks like the schedules are set for 09 and they have a website up College Fishing : brought to you by FLW Outdoors and the National Guard. I think I need to go back to college.

Kentucky Lake Gilbertsville, KY 637 mi – about 10 hours 9 mins Jul 25 Detroit River Detroit, MI 787 mi – about 12 hours 1 min Aug 22 Mississippi River Ft. Madison, IA 386 mi – about 6 hours 4 mins Oct 3 Lake of the Ozarks Osage Beach, MO 366 mi – about 6 hours 16 mins If you guys can hit 3 out of the 4 that would be awesome. I have not gotten a hold of the rules yet, but that would be awesome! I am pretty sure they are still getting sponsors and the whole packages put together, but from what I have heard its going to be very rewarding for you guys.

HOLY SH%!...pardon my french but please read this guys. I am so damn envious of you for next year, its not even funny.
"...FLW Outdoors will provide boats and observers for all participants, who will compete as two-person teams in each qualifier. Scholarships will be awarded to the top five teams in each event and every team participating will receive a travel allowance. The top five teams from each qualifier will also advance to one of five regional championships. Scholarships will once again be awarded to the top five teams in each regional, and every team participating will receive a travel allowance. Universities and colleges represented by the top five teams in each regional also benefit, as they will receive donations in each team’s name. The top five teams from each regional will advance to the national championship. The national champions will be invited to the Forrest Wood Cup, where they will be provided use of a Chevy truck and Ranger boat wrapped in their school colors as they compete for a first place prize of up to $1 million"
