June 21-22
Lake Eufalla Oklahoma Lake Records: LMB- 10.5 lbs. and had a length of 23.5 (march 8th, 2008) SMB- 8.3 lbs. and a length of 23.5 (march 4th, 2006)*State Record Better take some time off boys! Preview: Short Take: 102,000 acres; three major river tributaries, flooded timber, rocky shoreline, no vegetation. Many of the country’s large impoundments are often described as “two lakes in one,” meaning water conditions in one section of the lake are completely different than conditions in another section. Oklahoma’s Lake Eufaula, however, is often described as “three lakes in one.” The largest impoundment in the state, one quick look at a lake map shows how accurate this description really is. The lower part of the lake, for example, is made up of the South Canadian River and Gaines Creek with its own tributaries; the upper part of the lake consists of the North Canadian and Deep Fork Rivers; and the huge, open section of the lake where all these rivers join forms a third distinct area of the impoundment. Overall, the lake is fairly shallow, and each of the three sections includes a lot of brush-covered shoreline, flooded willows and stumps. The bottom ranges from rock and boulders to sand and mud. Primary Species: Largemouth and smallmouth bass.

I want to have at least 2 boats. I think we will be limited to 5 boats...but 3 is defiantly plausible!
CBAA is putting it on.

CBAA Greetings!
We are happy to report that CBAA has partnered with Legends Boats, Jelly Stone Park and the Lake Eufaula Association in order to present the inaugural Big 12 Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship on Lake Eufaula, Oklahoma the weekend of June 21st and 22nd, 2008. I also want to thank you for support and for those who provided your thoughts and recommendations for this event as plans were developed to provide you this opportunity. We are also pleased to announce that along with the Big XII Championship, we are inviting all interested collegiate anglers to meet at Lake Eufaula on Saturday June 21st to compete for the CBAA Heartland Championship title. This format will allow any interest student anglers a localized opportunity to compete in collegiate arena while spotlighting the Big 12 Championship as a feature event. Official check in and pretournament dinner and meeting will be hosted by Jelly Stone Park on Friday June 20th, 2008. Lake Eufaula Association is working hard to finalized lodging plans for participating anglers. Once these plans have been finalized, lodging and contact information will be forward on to you as soon as possible in order for you to make appropriate arrangements. The following information and attachments are important documentation that is required by your team and/or each individual angler participating in the 2008 Big Ten Championship. This information includes the 2008 Team Roster, Rules Acknowledgement, Photo Release and Liability Release. I have also included a copy of the championship event schedule. Team Roster should be completed by the club president (or individual anglers) and will need either the signature of the club president and/or advisor which will confirm the names of your team participants for the championship and will attest to the club’s official status by your institution as a current RSO. Rules Acknowledgement may be completed solely by the club president as the official representative of their club. The signing official has the responsibility to insure that all team members understand tournament rules and deadlines. Photo & Liability Release must be signed and dated by each individual angler prior to their participation in competition. CBAA Memberships have been graciously donated for all participating anglers competing in the Big 12 or Heartland Regional tournaments. The above information and documentation are required for participation and authorization to compete in the 2008 CBAA Big 12 Championship. We are excited about this year’s event and are here to assist you and your teams as you prepare and plan for this event. Please let me know if you have any questions. Tight lines, ¸><((((º> Troy troy@collegiatebass.org

I apologize that there hasn't been more on this but I had Strep throat since Sunday so I have been down and out for a couple days.
I have been trying to make up an itinerary for this trip here is what I have. 4 guys leave Tuesday morning. Stop and grab boat(s) from wherever. I have summer school class until 9 on Tuesdays, so I have to wait until after that being that I will miss Thursdays class. Tuesday 4 guys leave and grab boat(s)- check into hotel, get settled walk/drive around lake and get water conditions. Talk with locals...etc Myself and someone else drive down that night/morning Wednesday Get up early, stay on the water late Sleep Thursday Get up early, stay on water late Sleep Friday Get up early, get off the water in time for the meeting which is TBA Celebrate Ryans Birthday Sleep Saturday tear the fish up Win the Heartland Regional Tournament (first day of tournament) Sunday Tear up the fish even more Win the Big 12 Tournament (2nd day of tourney) Get off the water Clean boats Drop off boat(s) Monday Go back to work All of the lodging is still up in the air, I am waiting on CBAA because they have stated they are going to help us with rates and stuff, so I will have that for you as soon and I hear anything. Also we are allowed up to 5 boats. As of now we have 3, so if anyone else wants to go let me know ASAP! We can put all of our names into a hat to determine who is fishing with who, this will help us learn different techniques from each other. Here is who I have going: Tony Drew Logan Seth Ryan Shane Once again, if you want to go let me know ASAP.

If there ends up being an odd man out, let me know. I'm looking for a partner for another tournament that Saturday, and it'll be great to have an HBA member.

Found an article on the CBAA site about the Big 12 tourney with our very own Tony Cimino quoted in it. check it out.
Big XII Championship to be decided on Eufaula! Also, I am working on getting the days off i need to go to this event. I don't think it will be a problem but i'll find out for sure on friday. Most likely, i won't be able to leave until tuesday afternoon/evening because of work. I'll keep you updated.

First of all we need to figure out if everyone that said they were going is actually planning on going.
Next we need to talk to Triton about boat pickup. After that the CBAA needs to let us know about hotels/rates and some more info on the tourney. We also need to figure out who is fishing with who and when each team is planning on heading down there. We need to also order topo lake maps and do some research before we head out there. We've got a lot to do fellas, lets all keep in contact with one another.
