Youth Fishing Instructor Certification

Hey guys, this is March 3rd. I don't want to spread us too thin, but I think this would be a GREAT opportunity for us to give back to the community. You dont have to do it, but just thought this would be cool.

BTW: I am pretty sure I am going.

What does the registration process actually do for you?

I've helped Jim Rosenberger (Rosey from the forum) The last 2 years with the Bright Lights kids fishing class at holmes lake and plan on doing it again this summer. I never had to take any "offical" fishing instructor certification.

I don't think i'm going to do this.

From what I understand, registering will put you on a volunteer list for "Nebraska's Youth Fishing Program". For things like LPS's "Bright Lights" and the Kid's Derby put on by my church doesn't require anything, but I believe the Youth Fishing Program would like you to be certified and will notify you of events to volunteer at.

I'm sure somebody like OBG will correct me if I'm wrong.

If there is a boyscout outting or something where they need a "youth instructor" in the area of Lincoln, they will call you and ask if you can help. If it conflicts you tell them and they move on down the list.
