Default Boy Scouts

Just had a thought this morning....

In regards to checking the bins. Could we get any local boy scout groups involved? Or even girl scouts I guess. Surely they could get some sort of badge for community service, environmental protection, etc, for doing something like this, and they get to be outside while they are doing it.

Just thinking that teaching kids to pick up trash out our lakes is a good lesson to teach to them while they are young.

I am guessing we have some scout masters on the forum.

This would be a great idea. I've actually talked to Rick down at Canfield's and this is something that definitely would be a great idea to incoporate into the program as we go down the line. Eventually, we are going to have way more bins to check than we'll have members for and the Scouts could be a big help to us and it could be a good project for them as well.

Hey guys,

I work with a scout leader and spoke with him about this same thing a couple of month ago. He was going to get back to me. I sort of forgot about it. If you give me some more details about how often and any other pertinent info I'll talk with him again.

I can probably approach my old scout troop about it. They do the playgrounds at Zorinsky every year. Maybe they can take this on too.
