Default Too eat or not?

Look at what my granddaughter brought in from my South lawn. After awhile on the internet, I figure it's a giant puffball. Later last night I proceeded to butcher it. Cutting the sponge I found that the knife left spores on repeated cuts of the mushroom. Cleaned the knife and it went better. I sautéed it in butter and lemon juice. Tried a piece about the size of my pinkie fingernail. No convulsions so far.

Maybe it was offset by the dove rumaki and amber bock I had during the NE game.

Think I'll reheat it add garlic and more butter along side of a steak.

Harold thanks for the concern. Forgot all about the mushroom. Instead I cooked up some corned goose breasts in slow cooker with uncle ben's wild rice mix, mushroom soup and bread crumbs.

We eat puffballs a couple of times a year. Hasn't killed us yet.

Not a lot of taste but kind of a fun texture in salads if picked early. You ever see what they look like inside a little later in the life cycle, it might detour your appetite.
