Default Pulled pork recipe?

I am cooking up 30# of pulled pork shoulder for a camping trip, but I don have a recipe to use. I also dont have a smoker so that is out of the question. Any help is appreciated.

Go ahead and use lawry's seasoning salt and some garlic. Cook it until it falls off the bone. After that you can make some carnitas or bbq pork sandwiches. Man I am getting hungry now.

I used the following rub on a shoulder with great success the night before the cook wrapped in the fridge overnight.

3/4 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
3/4 cup white sugar
1/2 cup paprika
1/4 cup kosher salt
4 tablespoons garlic powder
2 tablespoons ground black pepper
2 tablespoons ground ginger powder
2 tablespoons onion powder
2 tablespoons dried rosemary, ground to a powder

Cook to around 200 otherwise your going to have a hell of a time pulling the meat. I made the mistake of cooking one fifteen pound piece of meat instead of three fives which added more than a few hours to the cook.

Good Luck

You can do it in a roaster or the oven. I cooked it the same way as I do in the smoker. Slow slow slow! I think I put about 20lbs in the roaster and started it at about 7pm the night before and it was done about 12 the next day. Just watch the temp on the meat and when it hits 195 it should fall apart as you are pulling it out. I would recommend some kind of rub especially if you are not going to smoke.

Do you have a Weber charcoal grill?

Trying to make the BBQ pulled pork without the smoke is just insane.

It would be like trying to build a house without a saw.

Not true!! Yes its better with smoke but still is pretty darn good with just a roaster or oven.
