I've not been able to find much information about it and would like to know if anyone on here knows anything about it. My grandmother gave it to me when I was a Boy Scout back in the 1980's and told me the story about it, but she's long since gone and I can't remember much about it other than it was someone from my Grandfathers side of the family. I'm thinking of sending this to the editor of Nebraskaland Magazine to see what they might know too.

A couple of weeks ago we were at our local walmart walking through the small appliances aisle when I spy a 4 quart deep fryer on the shelf advertised for 1 cent. 1 cent? That cant be right! So I grabbed the 1 cent tag and the unit off the shelf since it was a display model and brought it with me to the checkout just to see if it was true.

At the checkout I showed them the tag for it which had the deep fryer on the tag. The cashier called over the manager who ran it through his handheld computer and it came up as $2.34 cents. So for $2.34 cents PLUS TAX I purchased a brand new 4 liter deep fryer with two small baskets and a large basket with everything that made it complete. It cooks fish and fries really well!

As walmarts motto is "Save money. Since I work in downtown Omaha I even posted some pics of the renovation getting under way. I understand this will be an $11M project that will consist of four phases. I was surprised as I took a walk last Friday and saw that the waterway had been drained already.
