went out fishing Tuesday and Wednesday caught a bunch of LMB on Tuesday caught a 22" bass and as I was measuring it and trying to get a picture of it, it flipped and into the water it went and no picture to prove it just the memory. so when I got the chance to go back out Wednesday I jumped at the chance(I love my wife). this time brought my camera took a bunch of pictures and then caught a big bass again this time I put it on a stringer until the pictures were done then released it. worked out a lot better.

It was a gorgeous day but by the time I got on the water storm clouds had formed and a brisk wind came up from the north today. (May 8, 2013) I launched the yak anyway and enjoyed the cool breeze and a few agreeable fish. Caught several crappie and bass this evening.

I took my Menards special kayak out for the first time yesterday, so I can figure out how I want to rig it for fishing. For the money I spent, seems like a nice unit for now and actually really stable.

I think I have the hang of this kayaking stuff. Paddled around Cunningham in the 15mph wind with no problems.
Before I launched, and met some other fellows who were nice enough to give me some pointers and paddle with me till I got the hang of it.

The kayak I bought came with a paddle, which, after seeing the other folks out there, makes me think there's definatley room for improvement. I like that the one I have breaks down, but seems a little on the heavy side. Do you lose strength and rigidity with a lighter paddle? Also some grips or hand padding would be nice. Any advice on upgrades?
