YFI Opportunity, June 1, Lake Ogallala

Looking for a couple more of YFI volunteers to help with the "Fishing is Fun" Fishing Clinic and Water Expo at Lake Ogallala on Saturday June 1. The program runs from 9:00 to 2:00 Mountain. We ask volunteers to arrive around 7:30 to 8:00. The kids (about 75 of them) rotate through stations in the morning, receive a nutritious hot dog lunch, then have time to fish or kayak with volunteer help.

SV Eagles Bass Fishing Club

I don't know if this is the proper thread, so feel free to move it if necessary.

I have started a bass fishing club at my school, Southern Valley, located near Oxford, as well as in close proximity to Harlan Co. Reservoir. I believe we are the only club in our area, so I hope we have a "home lake" advantage for the state tournament!

We serve a high poverty population and need everything from rods and reels and tackle to boat operators for the upcoming state tournament. Harold has already volunteered to help, which is greatly appreciated! Harold and Slimdog also helped raise money for our club last year during the 24 hour fish-a-thon.

Anyway, organizing the club has been interesting, to say the least. If anyone is willing to donate lures, tackle boxes, rods, reels, NEFGA stickers, whatever, we would appreciate it. I live in Holdrege, but will be in Lincoln June 3-4 to attend a workshop with the NE Dept. of Ed. I could arrange a time to pick up any donated items on that day if anyone in the Omaha/Lincoln area would be interested in making a donation. PM me and I'll get you my cell number.

I can say this, without iRockBass introducing me to "the Fishing Forum" and the NEFGA, we would not have a club. So thank you, members of the NEFGA, for inspiring me to get a club going even if you cannot make a donation.
