A week from today is the last day to register to vote for the November election.
DON'T DO IT! Here's why: The last time I checked, approximately half of the Nebraskans who could qualify to vote weren't registered. I figure that makes my vote worth TWO. This is a non-presidential election. Nebraska rarely gets a 50% voter turnout in non-presidential years. If 50% of the registered voters actually vote, that makes my vote worth FOUR. Many off-year elections have voter turnouts around 33%. That makes my vote worth SIX. If only 20% of the registered voters go to the polls, my vote is worth TEN! Since you know I would never do anything that isn't in your best interests, you can safely STAY HOME!

Sorry Rog, you'll need to recalculate your numbers. I'll be at the polls.
Everyone weigh in at the most opportune time and make OBG crunch his numbers repeatedly. :zrazzing:

Bo,
better yet. "Yes....I'll vote." Well,....."Maybe not" On the other hand........"I think I will." Then,"I hope I get off work in time." Let's see the OBG figure those numbers for everyone. :zrazzing: :zrazzing: :zcoffee: Alex

I'll vote too!
Not only is it a right, it's a responsibility. Moreover, if you don't vote, you have no reason to gripe about things afterwards, and since I have a big mouth and like to gripe about that stuff, I'll vote so that I have plenty of room to talk until the next election. JLK :zcoffee:

what's tough is that a vote for a party rewards that party's recent behaviours...while a vote against that party rewards THAT party's behaviour.
Talk about being between a rock and a hard spot...and, then, whomever is in charge, the circumstances are still the same...with the exception of the tax/economy relationship... Interesting...that's all I'm saying, nothing more, nothing less.
