Default Zac Brown Band does Devil Went Down to Georgia

Wow. I always figured that Devil Went Down to Georgia would be one of thos songs that nobody could as good as CDB. But damn, Zac Brown Band sure did put some energy into it during the CMA awards.

I saw CDB do it in July at the Madison County Fair and thought this was just as good! ZBB is gonna be in Lincoln here in a few weeks. First week of December. Tickets are only 29 bucks I think! I have heard they do something like 250 shows a year and put on a great one!

I watched them do that out at Divots west of Norfolk. They are amazingly talented.

I was disappointed they chose to do a cover song on national T.V. Zach Brown has some good music. I was hoping for something of their own.

P.S. Surprised they kept the "son of a bi*** " in the lyrics.

I am sure they were on time constraints but that was just to rushed IMO.

ZBB is still no CDB. Good, but still a long ways from the original. Honestly, this is the first I've ever heard of ZBB.

Unbelievable!! I always thought they had some good tunes, but this song shows their true talent. Of course its not the original, but IMO they stepped this song up a notch. I thought he was gonna bust some strings. To perform it live flawlessly is even cooler. That would hafta be a tough song to pull off without a single slipup on vocals or instruments.

You guys should have seen them with Big N Rich with Cowboy Troy here in Norfolk. I dont like country music but these guys put on a great show. Zack Brown can also freestyle rap with cowboy troy. It was pretty fun. Er maybe it was the Capn n cokes making me think that.

I'll be there! and yes tickets were only like $30 something after taxes and fees and all that extra crap.....should be a good one, only wish i could still have my toes in the water and azz in the sand, although with this weather lately, anything is possible!

Covering such a popular country song like that is a bold move. It was awesome but it's still a bold move. It's like covering a beatles song. You have it set in your head the exact way the song is supposed to go and any variation from that just doesn't seem right so even though you play it awesome, if it's not just like the original it seems "off".

I agree with whoever said they should have done an original. ZBB is awesome and they're going to be around a while... And will probably be the next CDB. I know it's common for groups to do covers at these things. Didn't sugarland do Love Shack last year? Or maybe that was the CMT awards.

Heres the one I remember from a kid. From what of the greatest guitar groups of all time.

P.S. Surprised they kept the "son of a bi*** " in the lyrics.

I think they did the cover because they knew they'd get a hell of a reaction. The crowd was into that more than any other performance.

I wasn't too surprised they didn't go the son of a gun rout.

It wasn't CDB, but a damn good performance none the less.

The only thing that got me was Talyor Swift winning entertainer of the year. I wasn't happy with that at all. Don't get me wrong, she's a very talented singer/song writer.... but to me, she ain't country. Not when one of your male band members has dyed hair, in a mohawk, and wearing makeup.

You know who I don't think is country is Carrie Underwood. Taylor is flirting with the line but Carrie Underwood has drifted way over the line... You know though, the difference between country and pop now is almost just the lyrics. Lets face it, almost none of the current top artists are country like we all know and love country.

Love that song. I've been trying to get my daughter to play it, but she just doesn't have the speed down yet. She'll get it though.
