Yes, extremely painful!!
Do Not Wait! Get in right away and get fitted for orthotics, they help tons. Get a new pair every year. I had total relief for 4yrs from it until last month, don't know what they do when it flairs back up. It seems to return with a vengeance. It totally sucks! I find putting the heel in ice for 30min at night before bed, keeps you from falling on your face in the morning when your foot hits the floor.......... ![]() Best of Luck! |

I always hear a commercial on KFAB about the Good feet store in Omaha concerning plantar fasciitis and how they are the cat's meow for taking care of it and any other feet issues.

Doctor gave me some good stretches to do. It really helped me.

It sounds like amputation is the only logical cure.
I suggest you get in right away to have that done. As I've said before, I'm not a doctor, but I play one on the internet.

I've dealt with those for years and years. Flared up right after high school and I dealt with it throughout the military and ever since. I've had cortisone shots in my heels, physical therapy, shoe inserts, etc. There's only one thing I've found that works: my Vasque hiking footwear (one pair lower top hiking shoes and one pair Sundowner all-leather backpacking boots). The board last in those shoes is super stiff, making it essentially lift the back of your foot for you every time you take a step and easing a ton of the pressure from your feet with each step you walk. I wore these shoes for years, standing on my feet all day on the sales floor where I work, and I stopped having such horrible foot pain once I started wearing those shoes. They're recommended by the American Podiatric Association, too. I also, on top of everything else, have arthritis in my feet, but when I'm going to be on my feet for long periods, I wear my Vasques, and I have no trouble with my feet afterwards.

See a pediatrist, get insoles and that will greatly help your Fasciitis. As far as your bone spurs, they may require surgery if they are real bad.
I dont have any spurs but the insoles (hard plastic ones) have greatly helped my feet, in fact I no longer have a problem with it.

Get surgery right away. Insoles and special shoes just put off the inevitable. My wife played the shoes and insert game for several years. She had the surgery on both feet 5 years ago and is spur free and lovin' it.

Not to contradict anything that anyone else has already said, but I had plantar fasciitis and was having quite a bit of pain in my heels and feet in general. I really struggled with finding good shoes with decent arch support, and comfortable, too. My doctor recommended that I try over the counter inserts before going to the more expensive alternatives.
I bought a couple of pairs of the Dr. Scholl's back pain inserts and have been MAJORLY happy with the results. Make sure to stay with fairly sturdy shoes that give your foot some support and slap those babies in and go. They run about $10 - $12 a pair, but if you get the same results I did, it is a cheap way to find out if they will work for you. One note though, when I wear tennis shoes a couple of days in a row or just soft, flexible shoes, I will feel it flair back up. As we age and gain a little weight, I think we just put more pressure on our feet and need the sturdier footwear. Just my two cents...
