weird? a little, but considering the cost of caskets from a funeral home, I can understand that there would be a market for it. I could also see how it could help lower income families that may not have a means of the regular cost of a funeral.
My mother passed away a few years ago and the casket we got from the funeral home was 7 grand, the whole funeral cost a little over 15 grand. Now considering the materials to build something like that, looking back at it, the funeral homes are making out like bandits in a time where families are very vunerable. So this could be used for a little "pre-planning" which isnt a bad idea. My wifes grandmother passed away last year and she had her entire funeral pre-planned, she did it about 10 years ago, it made the whole event a little easier on the family during a horrible time.
