Default How do you convert WMA files to something a older CD player will play?

Just about ready to leave for work and my daughter informs me that she has a essay that must be taped or put on a CD.. In a very short amount of time I found out the old boom box cassette player doesn't work. I spent what little time I have fixing it, then finding out it doesn't record voice recording. Last ditch idea. Use the Singstar mic's off the PS2 on the computer find a program and record a file, burn it on a CD then play in in the boom box so I can tape it to the cassette. Everything works out great until I find out the boom box does not recognize WMA files. What can I do? I'm not buying a recorder or a new boom box. Luckily I have 2 whole days to get this done, most of which I will be gone.

Open your CD burning software
Choose the CD format as a music/Audio CD
add the WMA file to the CD
Burn

It will convert it to a CDA format upon recording. At least most will do this. I know Roxio and Nero do. Those are the only ones I have recently used for this. I'll bet that some of the options at Find Open Source Alternatives to commercial software | Open Source Alternative - osalt.com will do it too.

You might even be able to directly from Windows Media Player, but I have never done that.

I use cubase 5 for any conversions I need. You might check if audacity will do it. It is free.
