So what you guys think of this? I personally wish I had some investing money. Time to buy buy buy for a long term investment.

far from a "crash" I would say. Dont worry though you will be investing in the markets once your responsible for those idiots using your money when that bill passes, and it will pass, maybe not by vote, but Shrubs speech this morning was I feel his last "warning" before he uses executive powers in the matter. So in a way, you will be investing your money.

If we do go into a bad recession it will be horrible for the retirees and those nearing retirement, but it can create a lot of opportunities for those without much invested yet and that have been financially responsible thus far.
I made a big mistake and bought a house right at the peak of the housing market. Now I'm stuck with this house that I owe at least 25,000 more than its worth. Of course as long as my wife and I keep our jobs, we'll have no trouble paying our bills and don't have to be in fear of losing the house, but oh man if I had just waited. I'm just trying to rebuild my savings right now, so I don't have the extra money to invest at the moment, but I'll be watching these markets very close and if they keep dropping for a long time I'll have some money eventually I'll be throwing into wall street. As for what I have in 401K at my age, it isn't enough to cry over what I've lost. If I were in my fifties, I'd probably be a wreck. But DO NOT SELL! There is nothing worse anybody could possibly do for themselves or anybody else than to start taking there money out. People have to quit viewing it as $ and start viewing it at shares. Keep investing while the shares are cheap. Sometime maybe ten years from now all those shares will be worth a lot more. In all honesty if I were 65 and I had enough money as is to last till I died, I would probably move it to something safer and not risk not having the money at all in a few years then die before the market turns around.

Little background on how we got where we are today!
Hope like He** we do not go the way of Japan for the past 10 years, where all the boomers took their cash and stuck it under the mattress. Leads to no growth economy, banks have no cash to lend buisnesses and thus no growth.

My current plan is not to sell. However, I am going to forego putting any more $$ into my 401K for the moment, but no longer than the first of the year.
I am taking that money and buying more ammunition for the time being. Whatever you do, don't sell now.

This is MY opinion and may not be even close to reality: I figure I haven't lost a dime. I did not sell anything so there's no loss. I actually invest more now than I ever have. Some people get the mistaken impression that they are kicking butt in their 401K when the stock market is going crazy (unless your going to retire or cash out). Then they panic and sell off funds or quit contributing to the 401K in times like these. That's sort of backwards thinking as far as I'm concerned. Buy when the market sucks and sell when the market is kicking butt. IF you sell when the market is doing good, put your profits in a fixed fund until the market drops and reinvest. Most plans have a clause as to how often you can sell and reinvest (day trading) in a year/month period and it is for good reason. You can really hose yourself selling 401K funds. Long term is always the best plan. Of course if your retired or going to retire soon it sucks for you. But them again if you are retired you should not be invested in higher risk funds to start with. You should be mostly in bonds and fixed funds. That will be .02 cents please.

You have to be patient and take the long view. (Oh, excuse me. Were we talking about the stock market or Ty's Cubs?
