Husker Divers in Lincoln will be holding a Try Scuba event for individuals with physical disabilities on Sunday, May 31st, 2009 from 5-8 p.m. at the Downtown YMCA in Lincoln.
Husker Divers' caring, trained staff will assist participants in the water, in scuba equipment. Disabilities can include quadriplegia, paraplegia, blindness, deafness, Multiple Sclerosis, amputees, and others.
The cost is $20 and all proceeds will go into the Adaptive Assistance Fund, which exists to equip, train, and provide dive travel to individuals with physical disabilities so that they can dive with the mainstream scuba diving community.

Husker Divers is a local chapter of
Dive Pirates, a national, non-profit organization that exists to equip and train adaptive divers, including veterans with disabilities returning from the war.
