LINCOLN, Neb. – Anyone who enjoys quality art work should plan to attend the Platte River Art Show, "the most prestigious art show on the river," April 4 and 5, in the Peter Kiewit Lodge at Eugene T. Mahoney State Park (SP) near Ashland.
The show will be open 9 a.m.-8 p.m. on April 4, and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on April 5.
Outstanding artwork by many nationally-known artists from different states will be on display and for sale. The show is hosted by Prairie Images. There will be wildlife, landscape, cityscape, portrait, still life, Native American, Southwest, Americana and impressionistic paintings in a variety of mediums, along with sculptures, wood carvings, nature and wildlife photography, pottery and rustic metal sculptures.
The Great Outdoor Radio Show with Greg Wagner will be broadcast live from the lobby of the Peter Kiewit Lodge on April 4, 9-10 a.m.
There also will be an Old West Rib Fest from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. on both days, weather permitting.
Mahoney SP is located at I-80 Exit 426. A park entry permit is required.
