Pre-paid Reservations Only Marine Electronics - Presented by Cabelas Aaron Carlson from Cabelas is a Technical Expert on Marine Electronics and will present the basics and advanced operation
of Marine Electronics, including understanding and reading GPS Map and Fishing Contours. NWA Top Gun Points Champion Rick and Sonet Smutny Rick and Sonet are the first husband-wife team to win the overall NWA combined tournament point’s
championship. They fished all six NWA tournaments and finished in the Top 5 in four tournaments.
They also qualified for the Cabelas NTC in July. Their No. 1 technique for Walleye fishing is Live Bait Rigging. NWA State Championship Winners Dan and Dennis Kallhoff Dan and Dennis Kallhoff, Nebraska natives were introduced to walleye fishing on the Missouri
River, relying on the dependable jig and minnow as their favorite presentation. The Kallhoff’s
made their first appearance at a NWA tournament in 2003. They had their best year in 2008 finishing
fifth in the overall NWA standings, winning the NWA Championship at Lewis and Clark Lake, and
qualifying for the Cabelas NTC in July. John Boy Guide Service - Bryan Mickels Bryan is the owner- operator of John Boy Lures and John Boy Guide Service. Located in Brule, a few miles from Lake
McConaughy, he has been guiding on this reservoir since 1991. John Boy Lures began in 1976. Bryan will be available to talk about the strategies and
techniques he uses on Lake McConaughy. Daryl Bauer Daryl has been with the Nebraska Game and Parks for several years as a fish biologist. He will talk about the 2008 creel surveys in Nebraska lakes and
reservoirs. He also will discuss the most recent changes in the Fishing Regulations. Herb Angel Herb will give a presentation on Boating Safety and will be available to answer any Boating Safety questions. Herb has been with Nebraska Game and Parks for many years and has many wonderful stories to share. Jim Kalkofen Jim will talk about “Lessons learned the last 18 years running the Professional Walleye Trail” and on some strategies for fishing Devils Lake the location
of the 2009 NTC. This would be beneficial for those teams who qualify for NTC this year.
Jim Kalkofen has been the Executive Director of the In-Fisherman Professional Walleye Trail since 1990. From canoes and bluegills, motorboats and
muskies, to wading for trout, Jim searched for and found fish before the age of electronics. His nose for fish and the privilege of learning specialized
tactics from the experts has placed Jim in an enviable position in the fishing fraternity. He orchestrated the prestigious Mercury Marine National
Walleye Tournament for many years, and was the force behind the formation and early success of the MWC. He is an active outdoor writer and photographer, hosted a radio show for many years, and has participated on television shows across the country. Walleye University of Presented by the Nebraska 2009
