Well here is version 1.0 of my rod rack for my tube. The angled tube is not glued to the rack so I can change the position of my rod depending on needs and conditions. It is lashed to the tube with some parachute cord tied into loops and then the rack just slide in and out. I have not attached the shock cord to the down tubes or D-rings on the bottom of the boat yet to keep it pointed up right.

$12 or 13$ this includes the PVC cement. It was a 8 oz jar (smallest one) and it is enough for 50 racks. Buy the 10 length of PVC it was only 2.67 the cross piece was the most expensive. All of the notching was done with a dremmel tool using the cutting wheel, and some by the cutting drill bit. I needed to buy the parachute cord for anchor line and that is $10 at Canfields for 100 ft. I figured that I would be able to use some of to tether extras to my tube so I don't loose 'em in the drink! It was really easy the hard part was finding the time to do it!!!

Nice! Looks like you did not make the mistake I made with the angled front rod holder and extend it out so far that it is a pain to reach.
You also got by much cheaper than I did. My material costs were about the same....but where it cost me was finding "the right tool for the job" in easily cutting the PVC. I started with a regular PVC hacksaw and about 2 cuts in, decided that life was to short......so I went back to the store and got a nice set of PVC cutter plier thingies....Which not only made the cuts much cleaner than the hacksaw, but also only took about 10 seconds per cut instead of the laborous hacksaw cuts.....which had made me feel like that poor guy at the end of Mad Max. Once again....Looks very nice. When is the trial run?
