I added small tackle boxes to my tip ups. It cost me 1.40 cents each to do this. I used the smallest box I could find but not so small that cold fingers could not get the stuff out of it. Now I won't have to worry about not having the right stuff or walk all over the lake back and forth getting stuff. It should also make tangled lines and hooks between stored/transported tip-ups a thing of the past.
Parts used: 1 tip-up. Small Plano box, 4 screws, 4 Washers, 5/16 gas line. Drill pilot holes for the screws in the box and tip-up. Enlarge the pilot holes in the box one drill bit size bigger to avoid cracking of the plastic box. Use the washers to distribute the force of the screw head so box will not crack and screw heads will not pull through. Mounted on the gas line sections (length is your choice). This gives clearance for the line guide to fit under the box when stored. The gas line works good since it it stiff enough it will not "squat" under pressure. It is also easy to cut with a good set of scissors. You may have to grind the points off the screws once they are installed. If you don't have a grinder then just use a little longer section of gas hose and increase the clearance between the box and the tip up. Drill some holes in the side and clip the slots to the top of the box. Now you have line slots and can put your quick strike rig or what ever you use in the box, close the lid and it will not damage your leader. Your hooks will no longer be flinging around and getting wrapped up on everything else!! Keep a assortment of hooks, split shot, bobbers.....at your fingertips. Rubber band keeps the spool from turning when stored and is a safety for the tackle box.

That's an awesome idea Rob! I'm gonna have to make that a summer project.
