the first husker game this year, there was one flyin around the student section and it landed on this chicks head, man did she freak out!!! Praying Manti are soo cool lookin, and they are very religious too!

That looks like the larger Chinese mantis rather than the native Carolina mantis. Very cool.

Great pics of the mantis! I've been taking pics of one in my sedum plants along the back fence. It's a Chinese mantid, too (brown and green, like this one).

Didn't know they could eat a hummingbird. They eat bees, and there are hundreds of bees on those sedum plants, so I'm sure the one I've been photographing is well fed.
