Default Private Lakes

I live N/W of Omaha and am looking for a cabin/small 2nd home on a private lake. Looking for both skiing/tubing, and decent fishing. Need it to be 1 hr or, preferrably closer from N/W Omaha.

I know some of the lakes names, woodcliff, ginger cove, ginger woods, but would like the forum to let me know of any others they think are worth looking at.

A comment, Woodcliff for example, no offense, but I think it's too narrow to safely pull skiiers and tubers, so I'm a little leery.

Anyway if you could let me know of any decent lakes fitting the criteria above and there general locations I'd appreciate it. Or even better, if you know of a place for sale let me know (Not looking for a huge house)

Thanks

At most I don't want over an hour/60 miles away prefer 45 minutes or closer.

Price, depends on everything, lake, home/cabin, conditions, dock, storage, location, lake fees, etc.

I won't rule out a condo or a townhome. Price I guess is open to a certain extent.........PM me if you want more specifics.

Thanks

Nebraska Lakes Association is an association of private lake associations. You can link off their site to many of the private lake websites in NE and maybe learn more.

I've been on a fairly similar quest this year, but to find somewhere I could buy/lease land or a spot to use our 5th wheel. During my search I've kept an open mind to cabins in the case that was our only way to gain lake access.

Without knowing what exactly you're looking to spend, I will say that it seems that most lake property in eastern nebraska has been established for primary residences. When I say primary residence, I'm speaking of something 1500sq ft + and/or an average price of 150-400k. This appears to especially be the case for any body of water large enough to accomodate anything much bigger than a paddle boat. And even if the lake has what should be deemed cabin property (less than 1000sq ft, 40-50yrs old, in need of major updating)... they are still being priced at or above what an average primary residence (twice the size, several decades newer) would go for in the area. Riverfront property/cabins seems to be a different story... assuming you like to airboat or cat-fish. If you are in the market for something $150k+, Don Peterson real estate out of fremont (Don Peterson & Associates - Home Page) has a mls search that will allow you to narrow down on lakefront property and seems to cover a wide area.

That being said, I will definately pass along anything that I find. If you happen to come across any places for an RV, I would certainly appreciate if you'd send the info my way
