NGPC news release, 7/7/09:
LINCOLN, Neb. – Applications are being accepted for a Becoming an Outdoors-Family workshop Sept. 12-13 at the Eastern Nebraska 4-H Center near Gretna, according to the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission. The workshop, based on the popular Becoming an Outdoors-Woman program, teaches a variety of outdoor skills to family members 8 years of age and older. Space is limited and applications will be accepted on a first-come basis. The fee is $45 for adults and $35 for children ages 8-12. The following classes are offered: archery, beginning shotgun, camping, Dutch oven cooking, introduction to firearms, introduction to GPS, lake fishing, kayaking, pellet gun, and nature hike. Openings also remain for the Becoming an Outdoors-Family workshop at Ponca State Park on Aug. 7-9.
