Default Lund pro-v

Hello, I'm going to start looking at buying a new boat.(new for me!) More specifically I'm going to start looking for a single console 18 ft Lund Pro-V. When I'm looking at newer boats I notice that most of them have front and rear casting platforms and center floor rod storage. When I look at used boats in the early to mid-90's I notice that alot of them don't have a rear casting platform with rod storage along the side. Does anybody know what year Lund started adding a rear casting platform and center floor rod storage? If its too recent I probably won't be able to afford it, but if I can afford it I would like to have a boats with both of these options in a Pro-v. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Default boat

2003-2004
the pro-v is a tank. make sure it is new enough for the ips hull.it pops right out of the water when taking off. you won't regret the pro-v

I would also look at Alumacraft Tournament Pro series, just as good of a boat and will cost you less. Lunds tend to be over inflated in price. Both are rigged about the same as well.

Congrats on getting a new boat! Lunds are great boats. Got to agree with Chasin Eyes as far as price goes though. Look around and don't jump the gun. With the economy the way it is right now you should be able to find a great deal out there. You might want to think about the full windshield as well. When your cruising across a cold lake in early spring or late fall you will be very glad you got a full windshield. Also when it is a downpour you can put up the bimini top and snap it in to the windshield and stay dry as a bone and be able to stay out on the lake. I have a 98 smokercraft with the full windshield and love it.

Im still trying to decide that also. At first I wanted to get a tiller so I could have the most space in the boat, but I wanted a boat with a big enough motor to get off the water quickly in a storm and possibly ski behind. I know that its very nice to have a full windshield in cold or rough weather but I don't know if I'm willing to sacrifice space yet. I don't know if it will be too cramped fishing three people. For anybody thats looking at buying a boat or outfitting your current boat, look at one of the In-fisherman critical concepts Walleye volumes 1-5. In Volume 5 it goes thru different styles of boats (bass, tiller, flatbottom, single or double console) and what are the advantages and disadvantages. It also goes thru in detail trailers, gas and electric motors, and any electronics you could think of putting on your boat. It has answered alot of questions for me.
