Default Question: Access to Snake River

Dear All,

I am am active fisherman/kayaker. Was wondering if anyone has any leads on any landowners who allow access to the Snake River from their property. I did a trip on it when I was young, and have been dieing to go back for years. Thanks in advance for any responses.

First, WELCOME!

This link won't do you a bit of good, as I mis-read your question. As Slimdog is my witness, when I saw this post, I first thought of good ol' Boat Cop... glad he came through!

Here's another option, as I edit my original post:

Nebraska Game and Parks Commission - Parks - Area Search

Information should be available at the "Park" concerning land owners/land access up or down the river, or call the number provided!

Don't forget the PICTURES when you come back!!!

Maybe I missed it Harold, but I didn't see anything about the Snake on there, just the Niobrara.

The Snake next to impossible for access. It doesn't even appear on the state canoe trail guide because access is difficult.

I did a little Googling and found very little of value.

Map for Snake River, Nebraska, white water, Snake Falls

Paid hunting:

Old NGPC Board thread on the Snake:

NGPC FAQ's: kyaking the snake river

These folks apparently got permission somehow (or are very brazen trespassers):

Picasa Web Albums - Samir - Snake River -...#

You can try phoning Merrit Res. SRA or the local Conservation Officer to see if they have any info, but from what I hear, it is tough. The landowner who owns the land around the fall charges admission to go look at them.
