Anybody know where or how to find out? I have a 30 hp johnson i think is 88 but not sure. Where on the motoer does it tell? I haven't found it yet and need to buy carb replacement parts and need the year.

![]() On the brace that sits on the transom, should be a small ID plate with the model and serial numbers. I cannot guarantee that this is true for all motors but for my two old Johnsons the year they were manufactured is stamped on the "C Clamp Transom Bracket." In the first picture look in the area of the yellow circle and the second picture is a close up that shows this motor was made in 83.
