Default Installing swing tongue

Has anyone installed themselves or had someone install an after-market swing tongue for a boat trailer?

Thinking about doing it myself but didn't know how difficult it would be. I have a 16-1/2 foot Lowe on a trailer with an extra long tongue. Like to be able to fold it to free up a little extra room in the garage.

What brand of trailer? Shouldn't be too hard and some companies offer the companion swing tongue to the one-piece you have. Search the net for your brand and see if they offer. If you have surge brakes it'll be a bit more tricky but still shouldn't be that tough.

you might try Cabelas: Cabela's -- Fulton Trailer Swing Tongues

This one looks like the one on my 16.5's Lowe trailer.

Went out and looked at my swing hitch and it's made by the Fulton Performance company. The same one that makes the Cabelas hitch. I looked up their website and it looks like the Hinge kits would be all you would need. Page 13 below. They didn't have prices but just for the hinge kit should be reasonable.

This is a great link about installing those. In fact, after seeing it, my dad and I installed one on our trailer. Directions are good and is not too difficult. I have had no problems with it since the installation.
