Default Alternator charger

Does any one have any experience hooking up the trolling batteries so that they are charged by the alternator on the big motor? This one and one other at Cabelas sound like the cat's meow. Cabela's -- Minn Kota On-Board DC Alternator Charger

Looks like it would be a simple hook up. With the only hook up to the starter battery. Wonder what happens if you have a 2 or 3 bank 110v charger. Guess that if it shuts off if the big motor is off, that it would also be off when batterys are charged with the on board charger.

Wonder, what effect it has on the charge going to the starter battery? I guess that if the circuit going to the trollers is open when the motor is off, it would not act as a direct connection between the starter battery and the troller batteries.
