Default Kayak rack installed!

phone pic but you get the idea. Short story is I bought a Grand Cherokee Friday and it has the luggage rack, so I got the Yakima rack mounts today, works perfect. Hauling it on the trailer was a bit of a pain, this will be much easier.

Those yakima mounts are the way to go IMO. They are great at supporting the kayak and they are quick and easy to undo and strap down. Wish I had some, but I don't have a trailer or roof rack yet, I just throw mine in my pickup bed. Not the best way, but it works. I have a 14.5 footer that's a pain to transport in the bed though. My 12 footer is no problem though.

I bought the Thule rack the day before but returned them for the Yakima, the Thule mounts to the cross bars didnt seem to be as well thought out compared to the Yakima, plus the Yakima were 10.00 bucks cheaper.

Looks sweet. My g/f and I have talked about switching from our canoe to a couple of kayaks, looks like a very peaceful way to fish.
