Default Deep cycles...I know i know...this has been said before

I know this question has been asked in the past. But my deep cycles are shot. I can get about 15 minutes out of them before they slow down...30 minutes total. And I have one of those smart chargers that analyzes your battery first and every time I hook it up it switches in to desulfication mode for an hour... Anyway, I am in the market for some deep cycles. I run 24 volts so I need two.

I don't plan on doing a lot of bass fishing this year. My main focus is the river but I'm going back to ohio in a month and I know my cousin is going to want to hit all the local lakes and out here, on a day I don't have time for the river, I'd like to be able to drop in walnut creek or something for an hour.

With that being said, I'm looking for cheap... Not the best batteries, or "you should get optimas because they're worth the money". In the future I will upgrade. Anybody seen any good deals lately? Preferably less than $70 a piece?

Energizers from Sams Club. Group 27's are less than 70. They are made by Johnson Controls, appear to me to be an Interstate in a different wrapper. Look it up, exact same specs and made by the same company. I have 3 and haven't had any problems so far.

If you're wanting cheap go to Wal-Mart. Tape the receipt to the battery. If it ever goes bad there is always a Wal-Mart close by. My starting battery went down on me last summer on a Sunday morning. It was an interstate that was 7 years old so it has lasted as long as could be expected. The only place open was Wal-Mart. Guess what? I now have a Wal-Mart starting battery. There are better batteries out there I'm sure but I'll take the ability to get it replaced anytime, anywhere over any perceived quality difference. My trolling motor runs off a Wal-Mart battery that was in the boat when I bought it (about 14 months old). It's a 12v 42lb MinnKota trolling motor. It runs all day no problem.

Alot of people don't like the Everstart Maxx, but I've used them for years without any trouble. They also have the best warranty I've seen. 18 month full replacement 36 month pro-rate. I bought my last one three weeks ago and I believe it was $79, but $9 I got back. Tractor Supply has one I believe made by Interstate and it ran about $60.

I love the walmart batteries. I think I buy the 29 series one? Its the biggest troller battery they sell. Spend the extra money on that one. Its well worth it.

I am also in the market. I got to buy 4 batteries though. 36V troller then my starting battery. Ill be buying all those walmart batteries.

As said above though make sure you tape your reciept to the battery. Without they cant do anything.

Looks like wal mart batteries it is (I would look at sams but my membership expired and we don't use it enough). Thanks a lot for the tips guys. I'm glad everyone seems to agree wal mart is a good way to go... Normally when you ask a question like this somebody reccomends one thing and the next guy says the first guy is wrong and then I get even more confused by the end trying to figure out who to trust.

Just got back from a trip so sorry for the late response. I just put 2 new 27 series interstates in my boat and ran for 6 days up at Merritt. I ran the kicker part of the time but also used the electric a bunch. Still running good, but trolling motor indicated it was at low power, at the end. My old ones wouldn't have made a full day.

Since you're in Bellevue the best place I've found is Apache Camper, actually cheaper than going to the interstate stores. They were around $70 apiece and worked like a champ. But, check the stamp on the top of the battery and make sure the second character is a 9 (signifies it came off the line in 2009). The first letter is month A=January, B=February, etc. but not that important. They may have to order but only takes a day and tell them you'll only take one with a 9 as the second character. Exactly what I asked for and exactly what I got.
